Our DOT-NM kit allows you to survey with our industry leading NatureMetrics aquatic filters, while seamlessly integrating with the next generation Dartmouth Ocean Technologies 'DOT-NM' in situ autosampler.
Kit contains x9 aquatic filters - one for each of the 9 filter attachments available in the DOT-NM autosampler. (Please note: this kit is not compatible with other DOT autosampler models). This kit does not include preservation buffer; please contact DOT to arrange receipt.
Kit does not include tubing & adaptors (for use when sampling with powered peristaltic pumps) or a hand-operated syringe (for use when sampling manually). If you wish to sample using these methods, please choose the 'for pump' (tubing & adaptors) or 'aquatic kit' (syringe) version of this product.

What’s included in the kit?
Collection, storage and safe transport of your eDNA:
Your kit contains all you need to collect*, store and safely transport your eDNA sample.
(*Tissue kits do not include the nets or traps you may wish to use to catch the organisms the kit is designed to contain.)
DNA preservation buffer: Preserve and protects the eDNA in your sample. (Preservation buffer for the Aquatic - DOT-NM kits provided by Dartmouth Ocean Technologies.)
One pair of gloves: If two or more people are using the same kit, please purchase extra sets of sterile gloves - one for each person sampling. (Additional gloves are not available from NatureMetrics).
Sterile bags: For safe transportation of your samples.

Please note:
Kits must be used within 12 months of purchase. After 12 months the preservation buffer (which protects the eDNA in your sample) can degrade.

- Replacement buffer for aquatic kits can be purchased here.
One kit = one sample = one location. Kits can be used in one location only. Only one single latitude / longitude can be assigned to each kit.
Why are some tests only valid in certain locations?
Due to regional licensing restrictions, not all tests are available for every country/sampling location. Please ensure that you have selected the right product option before checking out.

How do I receive my results?
Each test in your kit comes with a dedicated insights report.
Multi-species metabarcoding results are delivered as a species level community report.
Single-species qPCR tests are delivered as a targeted detection report for that species - presence v absence.
Buying a combined test? You'll get a report for each.
For example, purchasing 5× Vertebrate + Fish (Freshwater) gives you two separate reports — one for vertebrate results across all 5 samples, and one for fish results.
